An older man with a beard, wearing a red plaid shirt and jeans, seated on a wooden and leather chair in a rustic room with wood-paneled walls, a stone fireplace, a fur throw, and a bandoneon instrument labeled 'Brandoni' beside him. An iron sledgehammer hangs on the wall behind him.

Edwin Erickson

Edwin is a third-generation Albertan, born and raised on the family farm and in the logging camps of the west-central foothills. As a youth, he developed a keen interest in his Scandinavian heritage, its musical culture, language and history.

Since then, he has traveled widely throughout the Nordic countries, while maintaining an artistic, spiritual and practical connection with the Alberta woodlands.

Edwin has performed extensively in Western Canada and in Scandinavia, in addition to his activities in musical composition, arranging and teaching, accordion repair and tuning, woodworking and writing.
