For a number of years I have been contemplating and planning to write an account of the first three-quarter century of this eclectic life, from its beginnings among the homesteaders and lumberjacks of west-central Alberta and onward to a lifetime of accordion music and related pursuits out in the wider world.

Most of my time here has, in fact, been a tug-of-war between the love of life in the spruce forest and the love of music. It has often been difficult to decipher, from month to month, which side is winning…

Buck Mountain Press is a new independent publishing house focused on telling real stories about real people. As such, it is our aim to allow the author more artistic freedom, without unnecessary outside restraints.
